Last week, we had apple-themed printables, crafts, recipes, and more for your preschooler. This week, we have some more apple-y goodness for your elementary-aged student and a fantastic giveaway – scroll immediately to the bottom for more details on that!
September 26th marks Johnny Appleseed’s 243rd birthday. And he makes a wonderful topic for a unit study. There are tons of books on the subject at every reading level. You can incorporate him easily into history or geography. How about botany, gardening, or cooking?
Whether you are planning a full-fledged unit study or just a quick read of the topic and some narration, I’ve created some notebooking pages for you. You can download them here from our printables library – along with all of our other past, present, and future freebies too!
I’m also including a round-up of our favorite apple related recipes, activities, and Johnny Appleseed books that would be perfect to accompany your unit study.
Our Favorite Johnny Appleseed Reads
We took out everything our library had on the subject – in addition to the books we already owned. Some were definitely better than others. Here are a few of the best ones.
