Two Tried & True Homeschool Tips

1. Find gentle ways to keep learning as part of your summer activities. Play math hopscotch. Start a read-to-a-tree habit. Let the kids make a garden plan and execute it. Volunteer as a family. Summer is the perfect time to deepen the weave between life and learning.

2. Now is the time for all the messy science experiments, art projects, slime escapades, etc. that you were just too overwhelmed to contemplate during the school year. Not only does it make for fun supplemental summer learning, but you can do them outside!

Three Can’t-Miss Educational Resources

1. Can’t make it to the beach right now? You can still get up close and personal with marine life with Monterey Bay Aquariam’s live cams.

2. Take a virtual walking tour of breathtaking Mont Saint Michel in Normandy, the real-life inspiration for Peter Jackson’s version of Minas Tirith in LOTR.

3. And did you know that pilgrims to Mont Saint Michel had to brave the perils of quicksand to reach it? Try making your own quicksand at home!
